Remembrance 2020

This year we are sadly unable to join together to make an act of remembrance in our churches.

We will, however, still take time to remember those who died in the First and Second World Wars and in subsequent conflicts.

Just before 11:00 am on Sunday 8th November, a wreath will be laid at the war memorial in St John’s, the names of the fallen for both St John’s and St Mary’s will be read, and a two minute silence observed.

At the same time the prerecorded act of remembrance available on this page will become available for viewing.

A Call to Prayer for the Nation

The Church of England has joined with other churches to promote a consistent pattern of prayer over the next month. There will be prayer resources and information, and everyone is encouraged to join together at 6:00 pm each day to pray.

Further information is available at the C of E website below:

This is a great idea, and it would be good if we, as a church, could support it.

Sunday 1st November

Good morning!

Today is All Saints Day, and probably the last time we will be able to meet in church for a month or so. We do hope you will be able to join us.

For those families who cannot get to church today, the children’s weekly “Church in a Bag” resources are available for download here.

The Parish Newsletter for November has also be uploaded, and is available here.

Have a lovely weekend.
